Fire!

The first part of the weekend has been great. We pulled out early from camp on Friday to meet up with my inlaws for their anniversary celebration which consisted of afternoon mass and dinner at Red Lobster. That was followed by the traditional game of Yahtze and some good laughs. We found our way to Sheet street and pillow alley fairly quickly because the agenda for today was a busy one. There were some chores that needed tending to out on the 'ol homestead. We woke to a misty morning which did not bode well for burning which was in our plans. We gave the weather a bit of time to improve and opted to pass the time with a morning omlet instead. One of the platform tree stands on the property fell over in a winter windstorm so we saw to it that it was upright and we made sure that would not happen again. Then it was time for some lunch. By the time that feast was finished enough wind had picked up to dry off the field. It was time to burn. We burnt a small plot of about a half acre or so. It was nothing too large but it sure is fun to watch fire no matter how big or small. The burn finished out just as we planned with no crazy monkey business so that is another job well done.
