Simple pleasures!
It's fall time and that can mean a lot of things to a lot of people. I think most folks separate out into two distinct categories when it comes to fall...Those that look forward to winter and those that dread it's awful arrival. There we go again, always looking forward and not living in the moment. We have been experiencing a beautiful stretch of weather as of late and since my shift with Andrew comes after the morning frost is gone, we have been soaking up every last bit of it.
We took our cue from the busy squirrels today and we gathered acorns. On really nice days, just to change it up we jump in the car and head on down to Mirror Lake. Just above the playground loom a few grand oaks, and we all know from oaks, come acorns. Andrew is not too proficient at the gathering part but he does seem to have a knack for finding them hidden among the playground wood chips. I took on the roll of gatherer and stuffed them into the little guys hood. Once we had a respectable bounty we strategically positioned ourselves at the base of the slide just close enough to watch but not too close as to be pelted by the oncoming acorns. Then, I, Dad sent the loot tumbling down the slide and like a little kid in a candy store Andrew giggled up a storm. The process was then, gather, remove stray acorns from Andrew's mouth, gather more, reposition, and release once again. It was a great day at the park.

We're enjoying a crisp fall morning here, golden-yellow leaves on top of a complete blanket of frost. The boys and I even watched a little of the sunrise together. Miss & love you,
