Come and knock on my door

Everyone says it is wise to getaway before the next baby (or in our case, babies) arrive. So, being one to heed sound advice we took off for Door County after leaving Andrew with Grandma and Grandpa for the weekend. Thanks Diane and Dave! It was the first time we have both been away from Andrew overnight together. With a gracious invitation from the fine folks at CYE we had a fabulous place to stay on Kangaroo Lake. We took in orchards, feasted on Perch and smoked Lake trout and all in all enjoyed a fun filled carefree weekend.

The orchards were chalked full of goodness, like fudge, apples and lots of samples!
The 45 knot winds were kicking up the lake a fair bit on the first day but our patience paid off and I was able to get in some time on the water while Rebecca took in some lakeside reading.

The mornings at Kangaroo lake were extremely peaceful!
No trip would be complete without a stop at some local diner. We managed to catch these guys on their last weekend of the year. They were still Car Hopping so we enjoyed burgers, onion rings and root beer in frosted mugs! Yummo!
