Greetings From Atlanta

The Summer camp season is right around the corner.  Topher, my assistant director, and I took off for Atlanta, Ga for four days at the American Camp Association conference.  It has been packed with thoughts, conversations, and ideas on ways to improve life for our "clients"-the campers, and the staff and off course, the parents whom we serve.  The trick now will be to pare down all that we've learned into some bite sized chunks in order to execute some of our new ideas.

It has been exciting for me to attempt to wrap my mind around getting back into the game so to speak this summer!  The above picture is the Basilica of The Sacred Heart of Jesus.  It happens to be only two blocks from our hotel and we took in 7am mass there yesterday morning for Ash Wednesday.  It made for an interesting day walking around a conference of 1000 people with a visible sign of my faith and my state in life as a sinner.  As Lent begins, I am excited by the meaning of the word Lent- Spring. It is a time for some Spring cleaning of the soul.  Happy Spring cleaning to you.

Your thoughts and writings never fail to impress and inspire me. I guess all that work getting a degree in communication was worth it.
Have a great day, and happy Lent, too.
Love, Gina

THANK YOU for an accurate description of the meaning of the ashes...oh and for coming back and teaching me everything you learned.
